Thurston County: Pedestrian killed by semi-truck on I-5 early Tuesday

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck on Interstate 5 in Thurston County early Tuesday morning.

The State Patrol reported that the victim had been standing in a northbound lane near mile post 97 when he was hit. The 24-year-old man was from La Center in Clark County.

The 64-year-old truck driver from Oregon was not injured in the accident.

The Patrol said neither drugs nor alcohol were believed to be a factor in the accident that happened shortly before 1:00 a.m.
